When in the course of human events, it becomes necessary for some people to dissolve the political bonds of party which have divided them from their fellow citizens, and to assume once again their place among the people of their country, a decent respect to the opinions of the people requires that they should declare the causes which compel them to reunify.
We still hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal; that they are endowed with certain unalienable Rights; that among these are Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of Happiness. That to secure these rights, this Government, instituted by the people, derives its just powers from the consent of the governed. That whenever those entrusted with that Government become destructive of these ends, allowing political parties to rise above the people they were sent to serve, it is the Right of the People to break those partisan bonds and to restore Government to its original purpose: securing the equal rights and liberties of every citizen.
The history of the United States of America is one built to avoid the repeated injuries and usurpations of absolute tyranny. The rise of the two-party system has manifested the opposite, creating a condition incongruent with the principles of the Constitution. The result is a polarization that serves the parties, not the people. Let these facts be submitted to those people:
